Re-design Textile Time!
Upcycling is in! Take that old piece of clothing from the back of your closet, that wonderfully soft but misshapen sweater, that thrift store dress with the cool print and the awful sleeves, that beloved pair of jeans that are now too tattered to wear and turn it into something new! Learn a wide range of relevant sewing, patternmaking, and fitting techniques as we deconstruct and reconstruct garments to fit ourselves and our styles. What do you like to do in your clothes? How do you want to feel? Consider functional elements--like pockets and closures--and decorative details--like ruffles and top stitching--and get creative with it all. Practice pinning, marking, cutting, hand stitching, machine sewing, seam ripping, pressing, tool handing and more. Let your imagination flow as you create one-of-a-kind clothing in a professional sewing studio setting.
